Once upon a time, Red was a song-singing, picture book-reading preschool teacher in Manhattan. After several years of classroom teaching, she shifted gears and became a boulder-smashing, hammer-slinging member of a Yosemite National Park trail crew. Out there, she experienced so much joy and so much challenge, and resolved to find a way to combine her newfound appreciation for adventure with her lifelong love of education. Enter the Philadelphia Outward Bound School! She joined the Philadelphia Outward Bound School family in 2015 as a field instructor, and saw time and time again just how profound and impactful our programs are for staff and participants alike.
As Staffing Manager, Red aims to best serve Philadelphia Outward Bound School students and participants by supporting the wonderful, inspiring humans that make up our instructor team.
Outside of office hours, you’ll find Red bopping around in the woods, playing guitar mediocre-ly, or pursuing her next cup of coffee.
