SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION GUIDELINES & REQUIRED MATERIALS
These courses were developed to cultivate leadership skills through the unique challenge of a wilderness expedition. Students on the Get Out And Lead (GOAL) and Youth Leadership Corps (YLC) expeditions learn skills that are critical to success but are difficult to teach directly—leadership styles, communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and decision making. The ideal applicant already demonstrates natural leadership abilities, has an open mind, and is up for a new challenge. Necessary gear included; no experience required. After your application is received, our Scholarship Selection Committee will review your materials. Those selected to continue the process will be contacted for an interview in late March. Decisions will be made and selected students will be informed in early March. ONE student from each school will be accepted per course. Preference is given to Maryland residents; open to residents of DC, VA & WV.
