In September 2018, The Discovery Center - a new outdoor education center shared by the Philadelphia Outward Bound School and Audubon Pennsylvania - will open its doors. The Discovery Center will serve as the base of operations for the Philadelphia Outward Bound School, featuring an outdoor teams challenge course, an indoor rock climbing wall, “gear-up” preparation areas and offices. The 14,000 sq. ft. facility will have shared classrooms, exhibits, a viewing platform and public access to trails around the East Park Reservoir (see map). For Audubon Pennsylvania, The Discovery Center will also serve as a center for research and science-based conservation projects and educational programs for youth throughout the Philadelphia region.
