In this season of giving thanks we want to acknowledge and show gratitude to all of those in our community we have the pleasure and privilege of working alongside.
To kick off this series of thanksgiving posts, we’d like to express our gratitude for our longstanding partnership with Leadership Philadelphia. We have had a meaningful relationship with the Leadership Philadelphia team and their program participants for almost 25 years, and for this we are incredibly grateful.
Each year we hold two programs in partnership with Leadership Philadelphia, one with their Connectors & Keepers cohort and one with their Core cohort. POBS Professional Programs staff work with the participants of both cohorts during the second session of their programming.
“We work to get the participants past that first phase of getting to know each other and into a deeper understanding of each other’s working styles and being comfortable working together,” said Sam Barnhart, Corporate Relations Manager for the Philadelphia Outward Bound School.
POBS instructors then build on this foundation by facilitating experiential teamwork, leadership, and communication skill building activities.
As an organization, we know how impactful the Leadership Philadelphia programming is, as our previous and current Executive Directors are Leadership Philadelphia alumni. Our partnership has also led to many meaningful connections with leaders and change-makers in Philadelphia that have completed the Connectors & Keepers and Core programs.
We look forward to many more years of helping to grow leadership in Philadelphia!
