West Chester Girls Leadership Application

  • 2. PERSONAL INTENT ESSAY

  • Max. file size: 512 MB.
    Please upload a one-page (500 word) essay indicating why you should be considered for this merit award.

    Topic: How have you demonstrated, or struggled with, compassion, integrity, excellence, and/or inclusion & diversity?

  • 3. LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION

  • One letter (250-500 words each) of recommendation from non-family members. Each letter should provide information about your background, leadership skills, and potential areas for growth. Letters can be uploaded below, emailed to [email protected], or mailed to our office (3401 Reservoir Dr., Philadelphia, PA 19121). If emailed or mailed, it must include the applicant's name and note that it is for their West Chester Girls Leadership application. Be sure these arrive by 3/18/22 in order to be considered for a spot on the expedition.

  • Max. file size: 512 MB.
  • 4. APPLICATION FEE - There's no fee at this stage of the application process. If selected to participate in the expedition, we ask that you bring an application fee of $100 with you to the parent/participant briefing and info session on May 26, 2022.

  • Outward Bound is designed to be a fun and challenging experience. On course, participants will form a team and learn to travel through and live in the wilderness for an extended period of time. Prior outdoor experience is not necessary for most programs. We have decades of success assisting individuals of all ages and varying abilities however, not every applicant can be accommodated on their course of choice.

    Please take a few minutes to respond to the following questions related to the applicant’s health history. This questionnaire is a required part of your application. Information will be kept confidential and will be used for the evaluation of your health and readiness to participate on your Outward Bound course.
